It’s a few weeks into spring and we hope you’re enjoying it. More sunlight and the return of warm weather make it a favorite season for many people, and it’s also one of our favorite seasons here at Mr. Rogers Windows and Doors. Why? Because spring is a great time of year to have new windows installed! This isn’t just a sales pitch – it’s actually the best time of year for installation. We can install windows all year round, but the springtime weather provides the perfect conditions for window installation.
When we do a typical window installation, we usually will remove all of your windows before moving forward with putting in your replacements. This might mean that you’ll need to crank up the air conditioning or heat inside your home if it’s particularly hot or cold outside, to offset the outside air temperatures. If your home is exposed to the outdoor elements for a day or two, it can mean your energy bills spike a little bit. If you choose to get your windows installed in the spring, the outdoor weather isn’t as problematic as other seasons since we typically experience nice weather this time of year in Virginia.
At Mr. Rogers Windows and Doors, we do everything that we can to provide you with an efficient and professional window installation. Our window installation process is designed in a way to limit exposure to the outdoor elements. We will send out a team of at least two certified master installers that will work on your windows simultaneously – one inside your home, and one outside. When our installers are working in a room, they’ll seal it off from the rest of the house, to mitigate your home’s exposure to the outdoor weather. Our process is so good that we can offer it all year round – but springtime is the best season of all if you want to maximize the energy efficiency inside your home.
During the installation process, our team members will need to fill in the gap between your frame and exterior with insulation and caulking before installing your window’s trim. The spring provides the perfect temperatures for these to cure. If it’s too cold or too hot, it can take a little longer to set properly. If you’re looking for as quick of an installation as possible, this makes the spring the ideal season for window installation.
When temperatures get particularly hot or cold, some window materials, like vinyl, can shrink or expand. For example, vinyl windows that are installed in the summer time might shrink a bit in the winter. Thankfully, Mr. Rogers only installs windows from Renewal by Andersen®. The windows we install are made from an exclusive material called Fibrex®, which is resistant to contraction and expansion in any season.
