Do you know that millions of birds die each year after they crash into glass windows and doors? According to Global Animal, birds are fooled by the reflection of the sky or trees on your glass windows or doors, sometimes resulting in a fatal crash. While that’s a very distressing fact to learn, there are actually some things you can do to prevent these accidental bird deaths.
Global Animal suggests putting up decals or window alerts on your glass windows to help birds learn that what they see in the glass is just a reflection, which birds determine through the UV rays and light frequencies that they see. Hawk simulation or even a sticker of a hawk silhouette on your window or door may also help avoid collisions. Finally, make sure you don’t put a bird house near a window or door since birds are usually in a rush to get to these nests, thus increasing the chance of colliding with the glass.
Just imagine all the birds you can save if you consider these tips.
