If you are reading this, then you just might have broken your key off while unlocking your door. And the worst thing is that part of the key is still stuck in the lock. So how can you get that part of the key out of the lock?
If any part of the key is protruding from the lock, simply pulling it out with a pair of long-nose pliers will solve the problem. If nothing is protruding from the lock, however, you can use a coping saw blade with the help of a lubricant to make it easier to pull out. Read the full instructions here.
To avoid future problems, make sure you check your keys from time to time to see if they have any cracks since all keys will break sooner or later. It is also advisable to lubricate your locks regularly so you don’t need to turn your key very hard every time you unlock your door.
