Say goodbye to cleaners that have strong smells or that harm your sensitive hands. You can replace harsh cleaners from the store with easy-to-make cleaning products that are made from natural ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Ingredients like: baking soda, salt, lemon, and vinegar can be used to clean household messes away.
According to Better Homes and Gardens, here are some ways to make natural cleaners:
- Salt and baking soda can be used as mild abrasives for different types of surfaces. You can add one or two drops of essential oil to add fragrance.
- Half a lemon dipped in Borax also makes an excellent scrubber for your kitchen, bathroom, and even your appliances.
- Two cups each of water and rubbing alcohol mixed with ½ cup ammonia can give your windows and other glass items a clean, new look.
- Make a paste of ¼ cup salt and 2 tablespoons vinegar to make a paste that effectively eliminates hard water stains.
Just remember, never mix ammonia with bleach, which gives off toxic fumes.
