Install Retractable Screen Doors to Improve Air Quality

A retractable screen door is a wonderful option if you want to let more fresh air into your home during the day, maybe through your front door or French doors, but you don’t want to let in those unwanted bugs and insects.  There are many sizes and types of retractable screen doors on the market, from manual to remote controlled, and you can choose one to fit your needs.  But whatever type you choose, here’s a quick guide to installing a retractable screen door in just one day.

Step 1: Trim the cassette and screen to its proper width.

Step 2: Reassemble the parts, including caps and screen handle.

Step 3:  Screw in the metal mounting clips to the head casing.

Step 4: Attach the storage cassette to the mounting clips.

Step 5: Install the side tracks.

Step 6: Secure the side tracks to door frame.

Step 7: Pull the screen up and down several times to test your retractable screen door.

Before purchasing a retractable screen door, make sure you have accurate door measurements to ensure a correct fit.
