There are many cleaners, both natural ones and those containing chemicals, that promise to remove stains from doors, particularly fiberglass doors. But if very stubborn stains are your problem, you can use acetone to remove stains from your fiberglass door by following these easy steps:
- Make sure there is sufficient ventilation in your working area by opening windows and doors since acetone fumes can be harmful.
- Put the smallest amount of acetone you can on a clean piece of cloth and rub it on the stain. Rub gently until the stain disappears. You can add more acetone if you need to. Once the stain is gone, dip a clean rag in water and rinse off the acetone.
- Maintain your fiberglass door to prevent stubborn stains by regularly washing it with water and dish soap.
Alternately, if a stain is not so stubborn, you can use vinegar, which is milder than acetone.
