When you’ve decided it’s time to upgrade your old windows, the next step is to find the perfect window replacement. It’s important to look at all your options and find the type of window that best fits your home’s unique style.
At Mr. Rogers Windows and Doors, we have many window designs and types to choose from. Popular options include bay and bow windows, but many homeowners don’t know the difference between the two. Both windows come in a combination of other windows and have a more traditional look. They’re great for replacing large window openings and will increase the value of your home.
Check out what each window has to offer to help decide between the two:
Bay Windows:
Bay windows come out from your exterior wall to offer an extended view and add space to your living area. A typical bay window combination includes three windows: Two side windows that angle out to meet a larger picture window in the middle.
Bow Windows:
Like bay windows, bow windows also extend out from your exterior wall. However, bow windows are a combination of four to six windows that curve and form an arch. These windows are typically bigger and are all identical.
Both bay and bow windows are perfect for opening up rooms and creating a panoramic view of the landscape outside. You can put a bench in the space for sitting and enjoying the scenery or shelves to display your personal belongings. As similar as they are, you might prefer one style over the other depending on the setup of your home.
