Adjusting Your Pneumatic Storm Door Closer

Adjusting Your Pneumatic Storm Door Closer

A door closer helps to control the shutting of your door, making sure it does not slam or bang. The closer also ensures that your door remains closed. However, if your pneumatic door closer is not allowing your storm door to completely close or if your door is closing more slowly than you would like, there are two solutions you can try:

  1. If the storm door does not close all the way, adjust the bracket. Do this by loosening the screws that attach the bracket to the door and move the bracket further out or towards the door handle. In some types of door closers, you may need to remove the pin that holds the cylinder and then move it to a hole further away.
  2. If your door closes too slowly, adjust the pneumatic cylinder by turning the screw counterclockwise.
