Over time, your window tint may fade or come off, and when this happens, you might want to replace it. But before you can install a new tint, you need to remove the old tint. While there are many techniques for removing tint, there two really fast and easy ways to get the same results.
- Use a steam iron near one of the corners of your tinted window to loosen and lift up the tint. Peel off the tint and continue applying steam until you are done with the entire sheet. Remove the sticky residue that is probably left on the surface by placing an old towel on it and ironing it until the glue is completely removed.
- Use a clothing or fabric steamer to heat up and loosen the glue that is used in the tint, making it easier to peel off. To completely remove any glue still remaining on the window, you can either use the steamer, a razor blade, or a chemical glass cleaner.
Since these two techniques both involve heat, please take extra care to avoid accidental burns.
